Here at Emporella we love sharing real weddings with our readers and we are overjoyed that the beautiful couple Hannah and Christoper have been gracious enough to share with us, all the details about their special day! We hope you enjoy reading about it as much as we did (plus the photographs are stunning)!
THE HAPPY COUPLE:
The bride and groom, Christopher and Hannah, met when they were 10 years old, YES 10, at Allen Dale Elementary school. They were only ever acquainted but also attended middle school and high school together. After high school Chris went off to college and Hannah stayed in Grants Pass to be a preschool teacher. Chris was coming home for Christmas break when he contacted Hannah and asked to take her on a date, where they went for sushi. They instantly hit it off, fell in love, and dated for a year and a half before getting engaged on January 24th 2017.
The wedding was set for a short 6 months later on July 8th, located at the beautiful Mckay Ranch in Southern Oregon.
Hannah wore an ivory lace mermaid gown with a medium sized train, and a veil tucked in her curly hair, all from David’s Bridal in Medford Oregon. The handsome Groom, Chris wore a Navy three piece suit, with a wine colored long tie from Men’s wear house. They both looked perfect together, as you can see in these stunning photos.
Photographer – “They chose Julie because they loved the out of the box pictures that she always captured and the way she used lighting.”
They newlyweds got married at a ranch in southern Oregon, Mckay Rogue River Ranch. The ceremony was up over the hill under the trees, with a beautiful pond, fields, and mountains in the background. The reception was held afterwards by the big red barn, with lights draped above the dance floor. Hannah and Chris wanted a rustic chic look with distressed wood, lace, and tons of greenery. The Bride and Groom even handmade their own centrepieces etc. so they would fit the chic rustic style perfectly.
About 175 friends and family members came and gathered on their special day. Since it was a short engagement they didn’t do save the dates, only invitations. They designed the invitations themselves, online, with beautiful pictures taken at Limpy Botanical Trail, by J Chase Photography, the same photographer that captured their whole day spectacularly.
Wedding Highlight – “Hannah’s dad surprised Hannah before their father daughter dance to a hilarious guitar solo to “Sweet child of mine” by Guns N Roses. The dance floor was full all night with family and friends dancing. It was a beautiful wedding to remember.”
Narrowing down who to choose for a photographer was one of the hardest decisions because the pictures are what you hold onto for a lifetime, but they eventually chose to go with J Chase Photography. They chose Julie because they loved the out of the box pictures that she always captured and the way she used lighting. At their first engagement session she blew all expectations of a photographer out of the water and made them feel so comfortable. Right then and there, they knew they made the right decision in choosing her. The wedding photos turned out even better than they could have imagined. Local Clara Putlitz, from southern Oregon, did their floral arrangements. From the arch, bouquets, cake flowers, corsages, boutonnieres, she did it all and they were absolutely stunning. For the cake, Chris and Hannah chose to have a white frosted two tier cake for them to cut into and save for their one year anniversary, while all the guests enjoyed a variety of cupcakes to choose from.
Favourite Photo – “The most special picture moment was when Julie captured a picture of Hannah in the shadows of a picture of Hannah and her mom. Her mother passed away when she a child from cancer, and wasn’t at the wedding. It meant the world to Hannah that Julie would capture that special moment.”
