Here at Emporella we are very happy to introduce the beautiful, real bride, Jodie Redmond who married her handsome groom Andrew Mumby in June last year. We are so excited that the couple have shared every detail of their special day and the lead up with us for this blog post. We hope you enjoy reading about their wedding as much as we did!Jodie met Andrew through her brother as they were friends, also Jodie and Andrew ended up working together in their hometown in West Yorkshire. Andrew proposed to Jodie on her 30th birthday, the 12th July, at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Leeds overlooking the canal. To begin with they sent their wedding guests cute Save the Date magnets so they could get hotels close to the venue and then closer to the wedding date they sent out invites and food menus. Their wedding planning didn’t get off to the best start as they had originally booked their wedding venue at The Daffodil in Grasmere but due to the heavy rain and floods in December 2015, The Daffodil was badly damaged therefore they had to cancel their wedding in February 2016 – giving them only 3 months to sort out another venue! But, everything happens for a reason, right? They looked at many venues that was in the same area as the registrar and luckily The Belsfield was available – the venue was beautiful and the views are amazing.
The beautiful ivory and navy themed wedding was held on the 3rd June 2016 with 100 of their closest family and friends at the stunning Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield – Bowness, in Windermere, The Lake District The lovely couple had their first holiday in the Lake District and fell in love with the place, so this turned out to be the perfect venue. The ceremony, wedding breakfast and dinner were in the same room whereas the evening reception was in a different room, where the couple and the guests danced into the night to a reggae band, followed by a DJ.
The table centerpieces were breathtaking large martini glasses filled with flowers from Made in Flowers along side a sweet cart with navy and cream sweets. Also the stunning cake in navy and ivory took centre stage in their venue from the amazing Sugar Ruffles. They also went outside the have drinks and canopies overlooking the lake as it was one of the hottest days of the year.On the day Jodie wore an incredible Justin Alexander Princess style ball gown in champagne, with lace detailing an hem from the Wedding Lounge in Harrogate, which she paired with a matching veil. The dress was the first one she tried on and she instantly fell in love with it – you can see why in the pictures! Jodie looked stunning along with all her bridesmaids, who wore full length navy lace gowns with a classic bateau neckline from Morilee, complimented with a matching satin tie sash. The 3 younger bridesmaids wore ivory princess dresses with netter skirts and a navy sash to match the theme perfectly. The couple decided to hire the men’s suits from Greenwoods Menswear. The groom, best man and ushers wore navy blue Prince Edward suits with an ivory ruche and waistcoat, style with tan shoes. Everyone looks amazing making the day even more special and the talented photographer Haley Baxter captured the day perfectly. The bride’s wedding highlight – “Leading up to the wedding we has so many things go wrong – from changing venue to wrong bridesmaid dresses being ordered and the suits not fitting correctly but on the day everything came together and we had the most memorable day – I married my best friend and 1 year on we now have 5 children together and are very happy!!”
