ROX Diamonds & Thrills have created the ultimate map on the Leeds Guide to Proposals! Naming the best places in Leeds to devise the perfect proposal. Leeds is an amazing city where we here at Emporella are proud to call our home! This blog is one for the guys!
Lets start with Leeds Town Hall, Construction started in 1853 and finished in 1858, it is one of the largest town halls in the United Kingdom. It was opened by Queen Victoria, highlighting its status as an important civic structure. Based right in the center of Leeds the Town Hall is beautiful perfect for a grand proposal. Not only is the Town Hall perfect for proposals is also a great wedding venue to keep in mind!
Dakota Deluxe is a stylish hotel located central in Leeds, perfect distance from the Leeds Bars, shops and restaurants. This hotel is fashionable, high-class and luxury a great setting for a proposal, to make your other half feel like a million pounds!
The Grill On The Square is open 12-3 everyday, for either food or just drinks, with inside and outside areas. Often complimented with live music for an added share of class. Their high quality, exquisite menu means there will be something for everyone to enjoy! Perfect to go along side a proposal.
How about a proposal with a view, Crafthouse Leeds, is located on the 5th floor of the trinity center, with windows to see views of Leeds. Paired with beautiful food and drink. If thats not enough for you, their penthouse bar Angelica is the ultimate destination for a proposal located on the floor above Crafthouse. With a heated outdoor terrace and panoramic city views.
The Grand Theatre celebrated the 125th anniversary of its opening in 2003. It is widely regarded as a major milestone in Victorian theatre building. The Grand Theatre is full of art and history. And as it says in its name, it’s grand! The theatre cost a total of £62,000 and took 13 months to build.
If you are fan of dance, performance and arts then a proposal at northern ballet will be magical! “Our building is a centre of excellence for dance in the North of England, a place that will complement the best dance spaces and training schools in the UK.”
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a pioneering place that aims to challenge, inspire, inform and delight, with fields of green grass filled with amazing, both modern and old art there is something for everyone and can compliment a beautiful proposal.
This breath taking building really does speak for its self, placed in the heart of the city the vibrant markets. This building just sings wedding and proposal, its grand and monumental, and in my opinion should be used for more than just a market stall. However for the second consecutive year, Leeds Kirkgate Market was voted Britain’s Favourite Market at the ‘Great British Market Awards’ and is one of the largest indoor markets in Europe, Kirkgate is a shopper’s paradise from fresh food, drink and fashion to jewellery, flowers, hardware and haberdashery.
Kirkstall Abbey was first founded by Cistercian monks in 1152 there is so much history and mystery behind the building. There is a lot to learn and do at Kirkstall Abbey how about a stroll around the grounds or next to the the river. Play or watch the games onsite, including organised tennis, rugby and football on their pitches. Or bring a picnic along or indulge in refreshments on a new terrace overlooking the river. We can see why Kirkstall Abbey is on the map!
“Christians have worshiped in this area for well-over a thousand years. The earliest were probably a small group who settled beside a major crossing point on the River Aire in the 7th or 8th century.” The Leeds Minster holds the famous Leeds cross, Pulpit, Mosaics, Stained Glass Windows, Fonts and Memorials. The Leeds Cross is one of the earliest objects from the city’s past. Parts of it, some of them damaged, were found in the walls of the medieval tower. What a beautiful backdrop for a proposal story.
If as a couple you spend a lot of quality time with animals or pets, outdoors in the country side a proposal in Otley Chevin would fit you down to a Tee. It’s a beautiful nature reserve for a lovely peaceful walk away from the city.
Last but definitely not least…
Leeds is beautiful and deserves the celebrations of proposals through out the city! We hope this has made the proposal decision easier, with massive thanks to ROX Diamond & Thrills located in Trinity Leeds! Not from Leeds? Don’t feel left out the have also created a map for cities such as Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow!
