If you’re a fan of the eccentric vintage pin-up style then you will fall in love with this photoshoot. The location, hair, make-up, props, models and dress choices compliment each other in perfect harmony.
The make-up was kept classic and simple with a statement red lip throughout. Hair & Make up was done by the extremely talented Little Red Make Up. The models Felicity, Mae and Heidi were groomed and styled to look like old Hollywood movie stars, stunning and glamorous. The hair style in the image above had been inspired by the super-heroine Silk Spectre. These looks are super easy to recreate for anyone who enjoys the classic pin-up style and is considering this theme for their wedding.
This shot is all about the victory rolls, a statement hairstyle for any Rock and Roll bride. Within this look, the emphasis is placed on this stunning floral head piece from The Bridal Emporium. The brightness of the red and green work perfectly with the vintage, pin-up inspired theme, accenting the red lip for a pop of colour.
Styling for this shoot focuses on the alternative bride, one that dares to be different and stand out from the rest. If that’s you, then you will love our line of dresses at The Bridal Emporium. As you can see, this multi-coloured polkadot dress with a yellow waist band gives competition to the ordinary. The accents of red and the bursts of vibrant colours compliment the stylings of this shoot. The L.E.D letters were provided by The White Bulb. company, bringing the elements of a New York street: the bright lights of Broadway in the 1950’s.
Travelling to your wedding in an old-school American school bus would be the epitome of vintage. The quirky but fun aspect behind this idea just summarises the whole shoot. The unconventional weddings are the best weddings. This shoot brings something new to the wedding industry, allowing British suppliers to showcase their originality in a fun, entertaining but classy way. Just imagine how many people will be talking about your wedding! All vehicles in this shoot are available at Cherry Autos, whom specialise in vintage transport. If the bus doesn’t take your fancy, these incredible cars definitely will!
Dresses provided by The Bridal Emporium: a company dedicated to supporting British designers, stock handmade, made to measure vintage inspired gowns. Dresses of tea length, each one individually bespoke.
The dress to the right has a top covered in gorgeous laced detail which gathers at the waist showcasing a full-bodied skirt complimented by delicate lace appliqués. Standing proudly in the middle is a dress full of personality, with polkadot sleeves and a yellow underskirt, this dress is perfect for the bride that dares to rock a bit of colour for that fun edge. Lastly, on the left we have a more contemporary strapless, silky and slightly longer gown. Completed by a colorful floral belt, this dress is ultimately timeless. Adding pieces to your look such as veils, broaches, sachtes or even a coloured underskirt can instantly change the vibe of your wedding.
The venue was kindly supplied by Rosie’s Diner in Leeds. What a suitable venue, with lots of vintage American styled touches to bond perfectly with the style of the shoot. The bold, bright colours added life to our already vibrant 1950’s world. The venue provided a great backdrop for the shoot, we couldn’t be happier!
