Our sister, The Bridal Emporium and a handful of British independent wedding traders collaborated to create a Marie Antoinette inspired photo shoot. The shoot took place at Hazelwood Castle, a luxurious and sophisticated wedding venue located in North Yorkshire.
Titled ‘Let Them Eat Cake’, the editorial feature showcases Claire Amelia’s British handmade, bespoke wedding gowns. The owner of The Bridal Emporium based in Leeds, supplies unique gowns with a major vintage flare.
Designed purposely for this renaissance recreation shoot, Anthia an exclusive stunning full-length, off the shoulder princess dress was undeniably the main feature.
The attention to detail highlights Claire Amelia’s incredible dressmaking talent. A delicate, floral hem containing subtle pastel colours and vinery, lace trim and pretty pearls tailored beautifully for a timeless twist. The dress perfectly captures the classical beauty of the renaissance period and the extravagant personality of Marie Antoinette.
Alongside these gorgeous gowns, independent bridesmaid dresses made by fellow Yorkshire designer Stephanie Moran are featured in store at The Bridal Emporium. The quality of these dresses are undeniable and were great contribution to the shoot.
Zoe’s custom-made cake creations are most definitely an indulgent treat. Laced with luxury gold icing and floriated by royal roses, the unforgettable feast stand worthily next to the gowns. Zoe’s Fancy Cakes are layer after layer of perfectly executed cake, highlighted by exceptional decoration, in order to make them look incredibly heavenly (oh, they are!)
The carousel feature definitely stole the show with its exquisite design and deluxe cosmetic, resembles a designer ornament purposely for display. The expensive appearance of the sweet treats multiply the majestic setting. The fun, quirky custom-made wedding toppers add personality to any wedding cake, livening the shoot and bringing an element of realism.
Photographs were captured by Soulmate Wedding Photography making sure the shoot reached it’s full potential. Other contributors, Pamella Dunn provided props to accompany the models and Catherine Elizabeth excellently styled hair and make-up.
The whole shoot provided something different, combining two central aspects of weddings: the dress and the cake. An elegant and expensive affair with bursts of vintage, historic yet timeless components.
