Here’s some of our top tips when you’re newly engaged…
Online Wedding Planner
Using an online wedding planner tool will allow you to keep everything neat and tidy in one place – having a clear and simple visual plan will help you keep on top of your organising, money and ideas. Keep an eye out for Emporella’s wedding planner that will be coming soon, but in the mean time you could even use Microsoft excel to keep track of things, such as payment deadlines and supplier contact details.
Start planning early
It’s easy to get swept up in the excitement of being engaged – planning engagement parties and save the date photoshoots, but be sure to start your wedding planning early. The earlier you start planning, the more you can start to relax as the big day draws closer. Just think of the less stressful last minute jobs you will have to do, and the relief you will feel as your to do list diminishes.
Regarding your budget, location, and other logistical aspects, make sure that you keep it realistic to avoid disappointment. Don’t try on a dress if it’s over your budget, don’t visit a venue if it’s too far away… your only wasting time and you’ll thank yourself after the big day is over and you’ve saved yourself some spending money for the honeymoon.
Remember that your big day is all about you! If you don’t want a person on the guest list… don’t invite them, if you don’t like a certain food, then don’t serve it. Your wedding day is an opportunity to have your perfect day so include all your favourite things and favourite people, but don’t forget to include the groom!
Planning your wedding should be an exciting process, and seeing as though it only happens once, you should treasure this time as much as you can! Make sure you include your friends and families with the planning, it will get things done quicker but will also be more fun too. Take pictures of the milestones like the day you find your perfect dress, it will be something special to look back on in years to come. Don’t worry about the little things, it will all work itself out in the end, so keep calm and have fun!
